Fenestrelle : The Great wall of the AlpsOn Demand

The Fortress of Fenestrelle, located between 1,800 and 2,435 metres altitude, is the largest fortress in Europe and the second longest in the world after the Great Wall of China. It was built by Duke Vittorio Amedeo of Savoy, between 1728 and 1850, to protect northern Italy. It is the only 18th century Piedmont fortress that remains intact, located in a national park.

Pinerolo is an Italian town in the province of Turin in the Piedmont region.

It has a number of religious buildings, including a superb cathedral and a 14th century church. Pinerolo’s main claim to fame is its fortress, where Fouquet, Lauzun and the man in the iron mask were imprisoned under Louis 14th.

You’ll enjoy strolling through the town centre – it has 3 kms of arches – and visiting San Donato cathedral and Palazzo Vittone, among the city’s most emblematic monuments.

Turin is the cradle of Italian unity. Victor Emmanuel II made it the first capital of modern-day Italy.

At the crossroads of French and Italian culture, the city has numerous architectural monuments, including the Mole Antonelliana, which at 167 metres was the highest building in the world before the Eiffel Tower was built. The royal palace, built in the 17th century for the House of Savoy, the Piazza Vittorio Veneto, one of the largest squares in Europe (31,000 sq metres) and the Castello del Valentino are all important landmarks. Turin is also famous for its dozens of kilometres of arches.

Mini Club Med

From the ages of 4 to 10, children often like to try new things. The mountains in summer are the perfect place for them to satisfy their desire to explore. Grouped by age, they’ll experience new games, sports and artistic experiences. Supported by their G.Os, 4-5 year olds, 6-7 year olds and 8-10 year olds will play team games in the fresh air. They’ll follow their mountain guides on themed walks along the trails. Then take to the stage for their show.

Philosophy

Mini Club Med has a simple goal: to give children an exciting, dynamic space to explore and express themselves. To help them blossom, young G.Ms are grouped by age. They’ll discover a whole world of sports with their friends and try out new skills in team games. As well as getting to know each other through creative activities. They’ll be smiling from ear to ear as they tell you about their grown-up adventures.

Junior Club Med

Teenagers love discovering new experiences with the support of their G.Os. They can take part in whatever activities interest them: sport, mountain biking on the trails, team games or artistic pursuits. The choice is theirs. Young G.Ms have the chance to spend the evenings together too, with film showings, parties and bivouacking under the stars.

After your morning skiing lessons, you can lunch on the slopes in our mountain restaurant (open in winter only). At Sauze d'Oulx, the Chalet Mollino is, at 2,300 metres (7,545 ft), a mix of traditional mountain architecture and modern technology. Reserved exclusively for Club Med.
